Apply Day at Kings College is designed to mirror the recruitment and selection processes students may encounter when applying for employment, apprenticeships, and graduate opportunities. Taunton Rotarians were invited to help out as Interviewers for the mock interviews which took place alongside other presentations, activities and challenges designed to develop teamwork, communication and problem solving skills. Rotarians felt privileged to help and were impressed by the wide variety of options available to today's school leavers and the effort that had clearly gone in to preparing Personal Statements and CVs.
Clare Lewis, Head of Futures at Kings said: 'The support of members of the Taunton Rotary Club was invaluable in helping us deliver a meaningful and authentic mock interview experience for our students. Their constructive feedback helped students reflect on their strengths, articulate their aspirations and gain a clearer understanding of employer expectations. I am extremely grateful for the time, enthusiasm and expertise so generously given by the Rotary volunteers.'
