Rotary Young Photographer of the Year 2023-24

The competition was entered by over 30  students in 2 categories, Senior and Intermediate.

We are very pleased that the Senior Winner Alex's entry is being considered as District Winner.

Alex's work is a digital collage, and is a combination of Photographs taken in Eastern and Western Ukraine, and London England. In this context, the work has the meaning of "personal rebuilding" As a person who has moved from Ukraine to England, "I am rebuilding and changing."

"Old Soviet/Polish buildings, a bit scratched, represent a connection to my home, cosy, a bit shabby, but native. London skyscrapers represent a new stage of life, new challenges, and opportunities that life opens up."

The submissions showed a huge variety of skill and talent. The judges remarked that the standard was very high and congratulated all entries.
