WHAT DOES ROTARY COST?

Every Club sets its' own annual budget and the annual Membership Subscriptions are calculated from that figure. When setting the budget there are some costs over which the Club has no control. In the case of a British club these are the annual subscriptions that have to be paid to Rotary International (RI) and Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland (Rotary GB&I) on behalf of every member.

The way individual Clubs collect their subscriptions varies considerably. Some collect on a monthly basis by direct debit, and others collect annually. The cost of any meals is not usually included in the subscription and is collected at the regular meeting.

Fees for Chard Club are paid annually but this is, currently, under review.

Such is the variation in costs that you need to check with the Club for the exact figures.

In the case of the Chard Club the annual subscription for the 2024 / 2025 Rotary year is £120.00, which equates to £10.00 a month or £2.30 per week. The fortnightly cost of our meal is currently £13.00, although members are not expected to attend every meeting, and any further cost ( social and special events) is dependent on what individual members attend.
