Rotary Youth Leadership Award 2024

The two students from the Sir John Colfox Academy who we chose to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Award course have completed their week of activities. Summer Parsons attended the first week and Oliver Chaning-Pearce the second at the Storey Arms in the Brecon Beacons. They completed various leadership challenges which also included caving, gorge walking and canoeing. Summer's comment on her return was "it was brilliant" and Oliver "Both the course and the entire week were amazing, everyone I interacted with including staff, rotary members and other participants were helpful, kind and genuinely great people to talk to. Thank you so much for sponsoring my place on the course, it has helped me develop many leadership aspects".

The Brit Valley Rotary Club also sponsored two students, Frank Harding and Zakaria Zidary, who attended the first week along with Summer. All the students will make a presentation to a joint meeting of the two clubs to give feedback on their experiences.

Bridport Rotary Clubs have sponsored local students for many years and have seen the benefit in the development of the young people who have put themselves through the physical and leadership challenges.
