Teddy Bears Picnic

Millennium Green, Mountfield - 4 August 2024

Helping with the Burton Bradstock Fete, President Mike spotted that a large number of Teddy Bears plus 'Adopt a Teddy' Certificates were left for which he ‘done a deal’. This is why we finished up adopting Teddy's on our stand at the Teddy Bears Picnic.

It was very pleasant day. The children had a great time choosing and naming their Teddies. A donation supporting Julia's House Children's Hospice was requested and £46 was raised for that worthy cause. The Spinning Well also  proved a great attraction.

During the day there were various competitions for the children to enter their Teddies including those with the largest feet, the oldest and the one with the best hat.

Families took advantage of the good weather by having picnics with their Teddies in the very pleasant gardens.

Heartfelt thanks go to our Rotary Friends Chris Green and Sara Glazebrook, both of whom worked tirelessly throughout the day manning the stall.

Also thanks to our Club members, Peter, Colin and Martin W for invaluable help in erecting and dismantling the Gazebo.
