Planting Hyacinth Bulbs for Christmas 2026
Working in Harmony in the Sunshine
With only 101 days to Christmas large nets of hyacinth bulbs, over 600 pots and 27 bags of peat-free compost were waiting to be transformed into pots of pink, white and blue bulbs in readiness for selling in November and December.
So, on Tuesday of this week, David Weston of JC Philips, transported the raw materials to our planting place. There, nine of our members spent a busy and enjoyable afternoon toiling in the sunshine on the super-efficient production-line. As usual, Mavis generously and kindly provided us with much appreciated mid-afternoon tea and biscuits.
Over the coming months, the bulbs will be carefully nurtured to ensure that they are ready right on time. Details of dates, times and venues will follow.
All proceeds from the project will be used to help needy causes we support.
