Our Club makes Sound investment at Colfox!

Bridport Rotary club helps the new Head of Music at the Sir John Colfox Academy, Alison (Ali) Davies, to launch the initiative to refurbish underfunded musical instruments!

Ali said "It was wonderful this week to accept a kind donation from the Rotary Club of Bridport for £500 to fix so me old Colfox instruments and get them cases that work! Thank you, Rotary!" 

After years of continuous use, some of the instruments have become tired and in need of refurbishment.

And especially now that “The Colfox Music Club” sees lots of young people from other schools trying new instruments, playing together and having fun!

So, Bridport Rotary club has offered support, both financially and with knowledge of how best to organise a schedule of equipment maintenance. (Some members have a history of managing assets and are able to advise).

This initial donation of £500 can be followed by further sums of money after a survey of prioritised equipment needs.

Regular servicing helps extend the life of instruments and therefore protects the assets. Many service appointments are simple tune-ups or preventative maintenance checks.
