The Storey Arms hosted 24 young people (aged 16&17) during the first week of August 2026.

Our sincere thanks go to Rob Fry and Haley Ridge-Evans for their dedication in organising this event on behalf of Rotary District 1150 (South Wales).

Two students who successfully completed the week were

Ayla Chard and Eddie Matterface of The Sir John Colfox Academy.

When asked “How was it for you?”

Ayla replied “I had an amazing time at RYLA and really enjoyed the opportunity to challenge myself and achieve things that I never thought myself capable of.”

Eddie said “Thanks to all of you at the Rotary Club. We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed every moment. By the end of it we were all so close and didn’t want to leave.

I most enjoyed meeting such a fun and diverse group and making friends that will last a lifetime.”

The students will give a feedback presentation to explain in more detail what they have learned about “Leadership” and this will take place in the Hayloft Room at the Bull Hotel, Bridport, starting at 6.30pm on Tuesday 22^nd September.

Bridport Rotary Club have sponsored local students for many years and have seen the benefit in the development of the young people who have put themselves through the physical and leadership challenges.
