A talk by Rev. Roger Driver, Rector of St Michaels Without on a more human story approach about aspects of the game, but also his own involvement as a vicar

Roger Driver Umpiring

Since Rogers arrival in Bath 5 years ago he has served as the Rector of St Michael’s Without (affectionately called St Michaels Waitrose) in the centre of Bath. Having been ordained as a vicar for over 30 years his other passion lies within cricket. After qualifying as an umpire 12 years ago, he has stood in the highest tier of recreational cricket at Premier Level in Lancashire and the West of England, as well as County age group games. Highlights have been standing at Lords in a corporate cup finals day and in Rome in a game of the Vatican v a Church of England XI!  Ordained by Bishop David Sheppard, a former captain of England, Roger is looking forward to sharing stories about his work in the community and cricket from what he regards as the best seat in the house in the middle!’
