Virtual Walk to the Algarve

1750 mile Virtual Walk by Club Members to raise funds for St Catherine's Hospice

The "Dreaded" virus prevents us doing our usual fund raising activities - so we are trying something different to raise money for our local St Catherine's Hospice which is feeling the pinch with less donations.

The Club  decided to do a Virtuial Walk from Preston to the Algarve about 1750 miles over the period from 12th to 26th October. Individual Members contributed towards the target miles based on their own abilities and fitness.

WOW ! As a Fund Raiser this has been beyond our wildest dreams.  The Members with some family members and friends including the four legged variety, walked over 2,000 miles. Way over the target - on our walk we would have ended up in Spain on the Costas !  But more importantly to date thanks to the genorousity of our community we have raised a staggering £10,000 for St Catherine's Hospice.

A few photos to record our epic efforts are attached.  The 2 weeks of walking was in all kinds of weather some sun but just look at the puddles.
