A heartfelt plea to help reward her staff with a special treat on International Nurses’ Day brought a quick response from Poulton-le-Fylde Rotary.
Clinical Matron Stephanie’s Pallett wanted to take lots of treats for staff into the cardiac and cancer wards at Blackpool Victoria Hospital to help celebrate the day so her father Jonathan Gleeson, a big supporter of the local Rotary, put out an appeal to them for help.
Community Team Lead Roger Critchley quickly called on members to back a plan to purchase cakes and biscuits from Poulton’s Booth’s Supermarket whose manager James Maddison-Neill was only too pleased to ensure they were able to make their funds go even further and provide healthy options of fruit.
Steph was delighted with the response saying: “It was very much appreciated by so many nurses across the hospital. Due to Rotary’s generosity, we could keep going back to restock the 'treat trolley' (to the nurse's delight!)."
