Poulton-le-Fylde Rotary was formed in 1948. Nearly eight decades later we are still going strong and actively contribute to local activities and charities. Thanks to our work organising the Community Bonfire and Fireworks we are then able to put back considerable funds into the Community we serve
What is Rotary?
Rotary is an organisation of men and women volunteers united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
Rotary Clubs
Rotary Clubs are made up of like-minded people that provide humanitarian services at local, national and international levels. Members are required to encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help to build goodwill and peace in the world through fundraising and active involvement in projects where appropriate. Rotary International is one of the world's largest service organisations dedicated to supporting humanitarian projects on a global scale. It sets the standards, goals and aspirations of all Rotary Clubs and manages a range of international humanitarian projects which individual clubs can support.
Rotary Foundation
Rotary Foundation is the organisation that translates funds donated by Rotarians into service projects. Over the past 100 years it has channelled over £2.5bn to its causes.
We at Poulton-le-Fylde are a friendly group of men and women from the town and surrounding area dedicated to helping others less fortunate than ourselves. As one of the thousands of Rotary Clubs spread around the world, we are part of a well established and trusted structure that helps us fulfil this aim. We are motivated by the Rotary motto —'Service Above Self'. We are always open to new members and new ideas to improve our community engagement.
We meet on the first and third Wednesdays at 7pm. Visitors from other Rotary Clubs are assured a warm welcome. If you would like to attend one one of our meetings please inform the secretary so that we can amend our catering facilities.
We meet twice a month at The Shovels, Hambleton.
