Junior Technology Competition

The Junior Technology Competition

Wow, we've won!

Rotary Lytham hosted 12 teams of 48 kids purifying water today at Hall Park primary school Lytham

The teams from Fylde Primary Schools had to design and then build a scale model water tower with limited resources.
Then design a filter using stones, grit and sand to filter dirty water to make it clean and usable. They had to consider time to filter against clarity of the filtrate.
After producing a portfolio of ideas  they then turned them into reality using their STEM (science technology engineering mathematics) skills.
They worked all day on their designs and it was very close between Hall Park and St. Thomas's in a tied scores. But St Thomas's won on quantity and a clearer filtrate.
Well done to all the teams but especially the winners St Thomas's.
