Past District Governor Ron Duxbury was our guest speaker.
Although Ron spent his working life in financial serviceshe also did freelance work for the BBC, mainly on Radio Cumbria.
Ron regaled us with some tales from behind the microphone.
He was once told that he didn't qualify to join Rotary. This was later rectified.
He also told us of a situation on the touchline at Wembly, with one of the players comming out with some unexpected comments whilst on air.
A most enjoy able talk followed by many questions.
