EAGLE AND CHILD BOWLING CLUB
President Sue and Past-President Jim went along to the Eagle and Child Bowling Club to present a donation under the Pitch4Pounds initiative to reduce social isolation in the community.
When Carolyn from the Eagle and Child Bowling Club came along to make her 'Pitch4Pounds", her passion for the 80-strong club and the work it has done in combating social isolation shone through.
We learnt that crown green bowling is an excellent form of exercise for all ages and provides opportunities to meet new people and provides a lifeline for people in the local community. Equipment is essential for the group and Carolyn pitched for new sets of bowls, which Leyland Rotary were happy to support.
