When Gemma from Central Lancashire Slings came to make her 'Pitch4Pounds' bid she told us how the group, based in Leyland, currently provides weekly drop-in sling library sessions for families to learn about safe baby-wearing and to try different slings and baby carriers in a safe environment. Families have said these sessions have been "essential and life-changing". Baby-wearing supports bonding, maternal mental health and post-natal depression and breastfeeding.
The funding provided by Leyland Rotary will go towards purchasing new baby carriers for the sling library ensuring the most up-to-date versions are available to hire.
