Kirkham Rotary young musician 2016-17.

This year’s Rotary Young Musician Competition, is to be held at Carr Hill High School, Kirkham on Thursday 1^st December 2016 at 6.00pm and is open to students in full time education who are no older than 17 years of age as of the 31st August 2016.

The competition aims to offer young people:

• An experience of performing on a public stage.

• An opportunity to showcase their musical talent.

• The impartial criticism and assessment of performance by experienced adjudicators.

There are two categories:

Solo Instrumental and Solo Vocalist. A winner will be chosen in each category. 

If you feel that your school would like to take part in this event, then please let me know at your earliest convenience by e.mail to tim1096@gmail.com along with your completed entry forms by the Tuesday 1^st November 2016.

Can I request that all entry forms are submitted to me by Tuesday 1^st November 2016, along with three copies of the piece of music to be performed? May I also request that schools remind contestants to bring with them an accompanist, if one is required? (Students have on occasion presumed one might be available). 

Amplification although permitted will not be provided by the organisers. Performers must provide their own amplification with an up to date PAT certificate to be presented to the organiser on the day of the competition. Failure to do so will result in the candidate being disqualified.

Any fees will be met by the Rotary Club of Kirkham & Rural Fylde, for those students progressing to the next round.
