Community Service

One of the main aims of Rotary is to raise money for our local charities. In this last Rotary year we have raised over £12000 which has been donated to such charities as The Space Centre in Preston, Trinity Hospice in Blackpool, Kirkham Juniors FC, Kirkham Scouts, Kirkham Brownies and Pear Tree School.

We raise money through community service, organising events such as  those listed to the right of this page. We also help out other organisation in supporting Thiers own events such as the Ribby Hall triathlon, Southport Steam weekend and the local club days in Kirklham and Freckleton.

Club Days Our involvement in Marshalling at last years’ Club Days in Kirkham and Freckleton was praised by the organisers, and definitely gave our Club much needed exposure in the local Community

Once again we were very lucky with the weather, and a good turnout of shooters and members to man the “clays” made it another memorable evening. Thanks to Tom Garlick and his experienced Team of planners, we made over £1100.00.

4.     Ollie’s Pizza Night

Another successful “House Party” night, well attended, and with great thanks to Ollie & Helen for their hospitality. Earning monies to “Funds” of over £1100.00
