The speaker at the meeting of Kendal Rotary Club on 15th April was Kelvyn James from Mental Health CIC Ltd. a non profit making charity, who gave a presentation on mental health first aid. There is no condition that affects as many people in as many different ways – be that individuals, families or organisations as Mental Health – and yet very few people know how to help. Mental health is about how we think, feel and behave. Whilst mental health problems are common, they tend to be short term and can be treated. But regardless of length, they all cause upset, worry and can result in a huge amount of lost time for the affected, their loved ones and their colleagues. They offer a range of courses to support individuals and organisations and also offer a range of confidential counselling options to support individuals.
