The guests at the meeting of Kendal Rotary Club on 21st August were Michael O’Neill (Chairman) and John Wharton (Vice Chairman) of Kendal Town Football Club. John Wharton gave a presentation detailing the state of the club. When they took over the running of the club, they had a massive debt which has now been sorted and currently they are once again debt free and the club is now on a much better footing. The attendances have doubled and they now have a full-size men’s team, a ladies team and an under 23 team and are hoping to achieve promotion from the North West Counties Premiership to the next higher league.
