BUSINESS / COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIP

Cockermouth Rotary Club is further developing its relationship with local businesses.
Whether you are a large, small or global company or a local start up or community organisation, we want to talk to you about our membership offer.

Members from local businesses / community organisations bring skills, experience, resources and enthusiasm to our club, new ways and ideas of supporting our community and helping others whilst making some great friends along the way.

COULD YOU AND YOUR COMPANY MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

Through membership of Rotary, you will become part of a network of 1.2 million members, in 45,000 Rotary clubs in over 200 countries.
Rotary clubs work to benefit the lives of others both locally and abroad.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY

We know how busy people these days are pursuing careers and earning a living or even busy being retired!
So we’ve made attendance at our meetings flexible to suit everybody.
All contribution from members significantly helps the work of Cockermouth Rotary Club; whether it’s physical, great ideas, in-kind resource or financial support – all are welcome.

Business / Community Membership is an opportunity for business individuals to develop their network of contacts as well as ‘open their eyes’ to the rewards of being involved in their community and learning new skills from long standing members of our community.

THE COMMITMENT?

Business / Community main member is the Primary Member – they become a FULL Rotarian.  The Primary Member nominates up to three others from their organisation to be Business / Community Associate Members – they may attend meetings on behalf of their organisation and the Primary Member.

Business / Community Associate Members are entitled to attend any Cockermouth Rotary Club meeting.
They may join any club committee / activity but cannot vote or hold club officer role.
The attendance requirement is relaxed for Business / Community members, but we would ask that between the four members, at least one attend or assist the club once a month.  It might not be attending a meeting but using their skills and expertise for the good of the club.

THE COST?

Business / Community Membership annually (our Rotary year is from July - June) is £160 (or pro rata) paid for by the Business / Community organisation to include up to four members per rotary year.

We meet at Hundith Hill Hotel on the second Friday of each month at lunchtime 12 for 12.30pm and the fourth Tuesday evening each month 6pm for 6.30pm where we sit down to a two course meal plus coffee (£15.75 per person) payable in advance by BACS.
We hold various Committee meetings in different venues across Cockermouth each month.
