The Club held its usual Monthly meeting on Monday evening at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel on the 7th February, but it had a slightly different style to a normal meeting!
The club was joined by many guests and visiting Rotarians from neighbouring clubs, to be entertained by a talk with a demonstration of `Jazz` by a 16 year old Alto-saxophone player, Tom Allenby. All are members of the Ribble Valley Jazz & Blues Club.
An illuminating talk was given by Clive Greenwood on the many different styles of Jazz, whilst Fred Shawcross gave an insight to the sometimes chaotic lives of Jazz musicians and a detailed account of his lifetime in the Jazz scene. The evening was rounded off by Tom Allenby, a very talented young musician who gave four complex renditions of differing jazz pieces.
