Morecambe Football Club
Yesterday evening, Rod Taylor & Tarnia Elsworth gave an incredible insight to the rise, difficulties and moving forward of Morecambe Football club.
Rod began with an input of the history behind “The Shrimps”. He told of how it all began as a community organisation at Christie Park, when they played against Burnley in the Northern Premier League and how they progressed to the Vauxhall League in 1966/67.
In 2007 they were in the Football League, playing against clubs such as Portsmouth and Derby County and a play off at Wembley.
Since moving to the Mazuma Stadium, they have been through a few difficult times, but now, under new ownership ( The Panjab Warriors) are looking forward to a bright future.
Tarnia is working hard with fan engagement to balance the community aspect of the club with the business side.
“The Shrimps”, a wonderful community organisation needs your support.
