Dragon Boat Racing

A fabulous idea. Come along and have some fun.

David Oates of Kendal Rotary Club came to our meeting on Thursday, 6th February. Kendal Club in conjunction with Lakeside YMCA are planning to hold a Dragon Boat Regatta on 12th July 2025. Dragon Boats Events Ltd will organise the event supplying the boats. The aim is to raise funds for the Rotary club's charitable work. In addition funds raised will be allocated to the YMCA Lakeside Summer Camp Bursary Scheme which supports disadvantaged youg people's attendance on a one week course.

Teams of 17 are needed for each boat crew which will include 16 rowers and 1 drummer. The cost of entry will be £35 per crew member. Spectators will be welcom at Lakeside.
 David is seeking a total of 20 entires. Each boat crew is expected to raise a minimum of £600 in support of these good causes.
