Choir Competition

Carnforth Area Junior Choirs

On Friday 22nd November, Carnforth Rotary staged their Junior Schools' Choir Competition - with a Christmas Theme. Held in the hall at Carnforth High School, choirs from Bolton - le- Sands Primary School, Carnforth Christ Church Primary School, Carnforth Community Primary School, Slyne St. Luke's Primary School and Storth Primary School were supported by a capacity audience. All choirs had to sing a set piece and an own choice piece.  Each choir's musicality and choreographed movements won much applause from the audience. The chosen pieces had lyrics which were most inspiring and related well to the true message of Christmas.

The three judges, all experienced musicians, had difficult decisions to make assessing all aspects of each performance. Before the results were announced, each choir was given an adjudication with many positive and encouraging suggestions.
Storth Primary were awarded first place with  Bolton - le- Sands Primary placed second and  Carnforth Christ Church Primary in third place. Carnforth Mayor, Elizabeth Jones and Rotary District Governor Kath Robinson made the presentations. Carnforth Rotary President, John Blowes gave the closing remarks.

With grateful thanks, from Carnforth Rotary, to everyone who helped to make this event a huge success.
