The speaker at our meeting on 1st February was our member David Alexander. David spoke about being an invited guest speaker at many functions. He was often able to charge a fee, which sometimes was as substantial amount of money. David was on the management committee of St.John's Hospice in Lancaster and he donated his fees to this charity. As guest speaker at the annual dinner of the Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors, held at the Connaught Rooms in London his fee was £500.
