Lifetime Achievement Award
Carnforth Rotary member receives Award.
Carnforth Rotarian, Geoff Parker, was nominated by DG Kath Bromilow MBE, in the Lifetime Achievements Awards category at the Lancaster District Community Volunteer Service Awards held at the Midland Hotel, Morecambe.
Geoff won the award from a short list of nine extremely worthy nominees. He has been a member of Carnforth Rotary Club for 46 years, where he has taken part, with enthusiasm and a smile on his face, in every project and event ranging from Car Boot Sales to Coconut Shy Attendant. Geoff, fondly known as Jeffers, once dressed up as a dame to entertain the members of the local Luncheon Club.
Carnforth Rotarians are very proud to know Geoff, who has helped many of us as well as many members of various communities in his role as a true Rotarian always putting "Service Before Self".

more It is known that people living with dementia often feel agitated and having a Twiddlemuff can help to keep them calm. To date, Carnforth rotary has donated over 100 Twiddlemuffs to RLI and Age UK in the local area and more are being knitted.
