During the month of July Rotary members, along with friends, enjoyed a day’s easy ramble through the Little Langdale area of the Lake District. Colwith Force (a little visited waterfall) along with a visit to the ‘Slaters Bridge’ – and as the name suggests, probably built for the convenience of local slate quarriers who needed to cross the river Brathay to get to and from their work, were two memorable features of the ramble. The 9km walk finished at Skelwith Bridge and in the early evening a meal was enjoyed overlooking Windemere at the Ship Inn where other Rotary members and friends joined the group.
