Blackpool Palatine Rotary members recently welcomed Diane Batey as their latest speaker. Diane reminisced about growing up with her father, Derek Batey, of Mr & Mrs fame & her mother, & being part of a showbiz family. Born in Carlisle, her father had many jobs, as an accountant, radio ventriloquist ! & an announcer on the original Come Dancing, many years ago. The family spent many years travelling around the country with the Mr & Mrs Show, before settling in St.Annes.
A BIG ' Thank you ' must also go to Diane for her generous donation towards the club, with which the club will support Shelter Box, Water Aid & other charitable causes.
