For more than 40 years Rotary International has been working to eradicate this paralysing & potentially deadly disease.
Polio cases has reduced by 99.9% since 1976. In this time, Rotary members have contributed more than $2.1billion & countless volunteers hours to protect 3 billion children in 122 countries. Unfortunately polio still remains in Afghanistan & Pakistan.
Bill Gates, of Microsoft, has previously matched $1 to every $1 raised by Rotary International but earlier this year he pledged to double his contribution.
This money provides vaccine delivery, polio eradication programs & emergency responses for outbreaks. Rotary will continue to support the cause until this awful disease is eradicated.
