Gerry Richardson Memorial Trust

Special Schools Music Festival


The Gerry Richardson Trust Music Festival was held, once again, at Ribby Hall, Friday 13th May 2022.

Superintendent Gerald Richardson was fatally shot whilst on duty attending a robbery at a jewellers in Blackpool on 23rd August 1971. 
The Superintendent Gerald Richardson Memorial Youth Trust was created in 1974 in his honour & helps people under the age of 25, particularly those physically or mentally handicapped who live in Blackpool. 
This year's Music Festival programme included performances from the pupils from Pear Tree School, Red Marsh School, Great Arley, Park School Academy, Woodlands School, Highfurlong School & My Life & included, amongst others Songs from the Musicals, Rock Band, Brass Band. 
The enthusiasm, enjoyment & sheer delight from all the pupils was plain to see. So much hard work must have gone into preparing for the performances from pupils, their teachers, assistants, helpers & the schools. A memorable day. 
Thanks & congratulations must be given to the Trustees for the event but special thanks must be given to Rotarian Angela Butcher who organised the day.
Blackpool Palatine Rotary President Sue Rooker presented a cheque on behalf of the club.
