Planting Purple Crocus near Blackburn Cathedral to remind people that we are very near to eliminating this disease from the world.
When a child is immunised their finger is dipped in purple dye, so they are not overdosed.
Blackburn Rotary Club has contributed to the Polio eradication initiative since the 1980's and continues to do so.
