The Rotary Club of Thornhill and District’s Big Book Bazaar 2020
EVENT CANCELLED!!!!
Regrettably due to the current situation with the CoronaVirus we have taken the decision to cancel our "Big Bool Bazaar", we hope to plan something later in the year. Watch this space!
After the huge success and popularity of our first Big Book Bazaar back in October 2019 where we raised (after matched funding from the Bill and Belinda Gates Foundation) a grand total of £2,197.61 were now getting ready to hold another event in April this year.
The 2020 Big Book Bazaar will run from Thursday 9th through to Monday13th April inclusive at The Thornhill Space, Drumlanrig Street, Thornhill. There will be an abundance of books to suit everybody. At our last sale, visitors snapped up an 1897 Bible and a complete 30-volume set of Encyclopaedia Britannica! The bookstore team are now busy sorting many hundreds of excellent donated titles covering a wide range of fiction, sport, hobbies, travel, biographies, children’s books and much more. We’ll be bringing you more updates closer to our opening at Easter.
As with our previous sale the proceeds raised will be divided between local charities/good causes and Rotary’s “End Polio Now” campaign. The wiping out of this severely disabling disease is a passion of Bill and Melinda Gates, and any money we raise towards the vaccination programme will be matched by them through their Foundation.
Please call in to see us where there will always be a warm welcome.
