Thornhill Xmas Late Night Shopping
Monday 2nd December 2019
Recently The Rotary Club of Thornhill and District held a presence at Thornhill’s Xmas Late Night Shopping, the street and the shops were buzzing and as usual it was well supported by the local community.
The evening started at 6:30pm and as well as the local shops there was a great selection of craft stalls along with fairground rides and a giant festive globe, the entertainment included the Buccleuch and Queensberry Caledonia Pipe Band, Ragtime Rascals and the Nithsdale Singers.
The Club members ran a stall selling home baking and we also held a guess the number of sweets in a jar competition were the prize was of course the jar of sweets which was won by Gill Dykes.
On the night we raised a total of £45.12 which will be donated to the Thornhill Gala Fund who do a fantastic job organising the annual Gala in the village.
