“Maggie’s” Cheltenham Gold Cup Day
The Rotary Club of Thornhill and District are pleased to announce their 3rd Annual Cheltenham Gold Cup Day Friday 13th March 2020
The "Maggie's" Cheltenham Race afternoon has proved to be one of our most popular fund raising events of the year, in association with The Woodland House Hotel and T. N. McKay we will be holding this years event at The Woodland House Hotel, Dumfries on Friday 13th March 2020.
The Rotary club are raising funds for the Maggie’s Centre’s hence the event being named "Maggie’s Cheltenham Gold Cup Day" Rotarian members will be significantly involved in the organisation of this special day for Maggie’s: “Our club has been involved with Maggie’s over the years and we believe it was fitting that we recognise the inspiration of local woman Maggie Keswick in creating a blueprint for cancer care centres.
The afternoon will begin at 12.30 with a Prosecco and canapés reception. The first race is at 1.30pm and similar to previous years we will have live TV coverage along with a Tote betting system in operation. Afternoon Cream tea's will be served mid afternoon with Prosecco flowing until we run out, a pay bar will also be available, the afternoon will finish at approx. 5-5.30pm.
