Cheltenham Gold Cup Afternoon for Cancer Charities

The Rotary Club of Thornhill and District are pleased to announce their 5th Annual Cheltenham Gold Cup Afternoon Friday 14th March 2025

The Cheltenham Race afternoon has proved to be one of our most popular fund raising events of the year, in association with The Woodland House Hotel and T. N. McKay we will be holding this years event at The Woodland House Hotel, Dumfries on Friday 14th March 2025.

The Cheltenham Festival is the highlight of the Jump season with thousands of enthusiastic race goers descending on the small spa town to soak up and enjoy the special atmosphere generated throughout this week. But now in a clever and imaginative venture the Thornhill and District Rotary Club will be bringing the excitement and drama of Cheltenham’s Gold Cup day to Dumfries and Galloway, all in the aid of charity.

The Rotary club are raising funds for Cancer Charities with the nominated Charities this year being Maggie's, Leukaemia Care and Young Lives Vs Cancer

The afternoon will begin at 12.30 with a Prosecco and canapés reception. The first race is at 1.30pm and similar to previous years we will have live TV coverage along with a Tote betting system in operation. Afternoon Cream tea's will be served mid afternoon with Prosecco flowing until we run out, a pay bar will also be available, the afternoon will finish at approx. 5-5.30pm.
