India Flood Appeal

The RIBI Donations Trust has set up the "India Flood Appeal"

India Flood Appeal

£500.00 on the way to help people that have being caught up in the recent floods in Kerala, South West India.

Rotary Club of Thornhill and District have today made a donation of £500.00 for this worthy cause.

The Rotary GB&I Donations Trust has set up the "India Flood Appeal" following the most recent headlines relating to the floods currently effecting the South-Western region of India. Funds raised will be used to re-establish communities once the water recedes through links with local Rotary Clubs.

This is not an emergency appeal but an appeal looking to support effected communities as a whole once the reconstruction phase has started.

Donations Trust responds to the need for financial assistance and support following major disasters throughout the world. Through the resourceful leadership of the Trustees and the enthusiastic support and participation of Rotarians, the Trust aims to help thousands of people overcome difficulties following catastrophic events.

The charity works with the purpose of responding to major disasters at home and abroad in the reconstruction phase following a disaster. It is not intended for emergency responses as this is already covered by many other charities and organisations. Typical projects include constructing and equipping school and community centres, rebuilding infrastructure and providing rescue vehicles.
