Welcome Iain Matthewson
President Liz welcomes Iain into Thornhill and District Rotary Club
Iain has being a regular visitor to our Club for a few months, now and he has bit the bullet and transferred into the fold. After President Liz welcomed Iain into the Club he said a few words of his background:
"My family roots are in Galloway though I was born in Motherwell and went to school in Edinburgh. I was a founder member of Lockerbie Rotary when I was Farm Manager at Castlemilk Estates.
I moved to Yorkshire in the 80s and was President and active member of Whitby Rotary. I then retired from farming in the late 90s and came 'home' to Kirkcudbright and became a member of Rotary there for almost 20 years. I moved to Auldgirth three years ago when I remarried".
I now grow Primulas!
