LORD OF THE DANCE:
At a recent Club meeting Mike Keene vice-president elect of Thornhill and District Rotary Club presented Sinclair Barbour with Rotary’s service in the community award.
In the past 30 years, Sinclair has been a key member of Thornhill Scottish Country Dance Club, raising the club’s profile to be acknowledged as among the best.
He has taught more than 500 pupils in the Thornhill area as well as teaching in Japan, the US and training a team to dance for the Queen.
Mike Keene, said: “Our club likes to recognise local people outside the Rotary movement that have worked within the community. Sinclair and his dancers have put on displays to help local charities with fundraising activities while travelling the world entertaining people such as the Sultan of Brunei and dignitaries at British Embassies.
