Wallace Hall Academy Robotics Team are on their way to The World Robotics Festival in Detroit, USA,
The team who work with Neil Corrigan the Principal Teacher of Wallace Hall Academy Design & Technology department recently won UK and Ireland FLL Final in Bristol and are now invited to represent the UK & Ireland against the world’s top 70 teams at the The World Robotics Festival in Detroit, USA, in April.
The First Lego League (FLL) is an enormous robotics competition, with 600 teams across the UK each year, 30,000 teams worldwide and over 250,000 participants.
The Rotary Club of Thornhill and District are proud to be sponsoring the team for the second year. Today Rotarians Trevor Baxter (President) and Alan Sykes (Treasurer) visited the team at Wallace Hall Academy, to have a demonstration of their robots and to present them with a cheque for £500.00 towards their competition expenses next month.
We at the Club wish them every success at their next competition in Detroit and look forward to them bringing home the title.
