James Cowan chief executive of The Halo Trust speaks at Thornhill

James Cowan chief executive of The Halo Trust will be speaking at our meeting in The Thornhill Inn Wednesday 12th April 2017

James will be speaking about the role The Halo Trust plays

What we do:

Our mission is to lead the effort to protect lives and restore livelihoods threatened by landmines and the debris of war.

We continue to play a major part in getting mines out of the ground, for good, but we are also increasing our role dealing with the broader debris of war – small arms, IEDs and unexploded ordnance.

We are engaged with humanitarian demining in fifteen countries and four territories and we have a growing portfolio of programmes delivering weapons and ammunition management, including weapons disposal, ammunition disposal and physical security and stockpile management.

In our work to make people and places safe we embed ourselves in local communities, build capacity and work closely with local and national governments as well as aid and development partners.

We create safe and secure environments, offer opportunities to rebuild lives and livelihoods, and prepare the way for development and long term stability.

Find out more about the difference we make.
