Three students from Sanquhar Academy recently took part in the Rotary Club of Thornhill and District round of the Rotary Young Chef of the Year Competition. 2015 The overall winner was Sam Finlayson with Adele Patterson coming a close second. Sam and Adele will go forward to the Dumfries and Galloway area final to be held shortly in Kirkcubright Academy.
The unenviable task of selecting the winner was in the expert hands of Will Pottinger, Head Chef and the Buccleuch and Queensberry Arms Hotel in Thornhill.
All three competitors were presented with ‘goodie bags’ from Chef Will, with the overall winner receiving a dinner voucher for two and the runner-up afternoon tea for two at the Buccleuch and Queensberry Arms Hotel
