Rotary Rocks the Night Away

70's night at Auldgirth enjoyed by the young at heart if not their bones.

Thornhill & District Rotary 70's Bash

The Auldgirth Inn was the venue for the latest in a series of Rock 'n' Rotary theme night organised by the Thornhill and District Club. The majority of the fifty Rotarians and friends had made a considerable effort to dress in 70's garb including Rod Stewart, Ozzy Osbourne and Tina Turner look-alikes, and of course many children of the flower power era. The Rotarians were treated to 70's music courtesy of Dumfries-based BG Sounds, a guest appearance by Ozzy Ozbourne (alias vocalist Rotarian Derek Clark), a nostalgic 70's musical quiz and an excellent 70's 'basket' supper prepared by the Auldgirth Inn staff.

Rotary vice-president Graeme Geddes said 'It was a great night enjoyed by everyone. Clearly the 70's had left their mark on those participating. I am sure everyone is looking forward to our next theme night.'

Thanks for a great selection GN. The more salacious have been edited. Not all the strap lines were those of the webmaster. Believe me.
