Duncow Primary School triumphed in the annual Rotary Club of Thornhill and District heat of the Rotary District 1020 Primary School Quiz 2012. The young Duncow team narrowly edged ahead of three-time winners Penpont Primary School. Other schools taking part were Wallace Hall, Closeburn, Moniaive and Dunscore Primaries. This is the first time Duncow have won this competition.
