At our meeting on 10th February we inducted Professor Paul Maelor as an Honorary member.
Paul was born in St Asaph and is renowned for his musical compositions including being invited by the King to compose a new work for the Coronation of King Carles III and Queen Camilla in Westminster Abbey.
His composition 'Coronation Kyrie was the first Welsh language performance at a Coronation and was sung by Sir Bryn Terfil and the choir of Westminster Abbey.
He also composed the music for the wedding of Prince William and Catherin Middleton in 2011.
Among his many honours Paul has been elected a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and has been appointed to the Royal Victorian Order.
He said he was delighted to have been elected as an Honorary member of the Club.
