On a very windy Saturday morning accompanied by torrential rain, several members of Rhyl Rotary club and guests boarded the canal boat the Lady Winifred at Trefor Pier on the Llangollen canal and set sail over the aqueduct towards Chirk.
Further along the canal they docked at the Poachers for some liqid refreshments before returning to Trefor at 4 pm.
The Lady Winifred is owned by the Llangollen Canal boat Trust and is available for hire by organisations for day trips.
Launched by Terry Waite CBE in 2019, every effort has been made to make the boat available to everyone of all abilities, with a lifr, disabled toilets and wider aisles. She can cater for up to to twelve passengers and is crewed by volunteers.
Thanks go to Rotarian Tracey Phillips PHF for organising what was a most enjoyable day out, despite the dreadful weather and preparing food for the hungry sailors;
