Speaker: 1020 DG Calum Thomson - Rotary Opens Opportunities,
Raffle: Stewart Hutchison,
Reception: Irene Brownless / Derek Clark,
The meeting was held via Zoom

In place of his customary visit to the Rotary Club of South Queensferry at the beginning of a new Rotary year, District Governor Calum Thomson joined the club's weekly Zoom meeting on Thursday 23rd July. Calum commended the club for being strong, effective and vibrant even in the current difficult circumstances. He thanked the members for their noteworthy contribution to Rotary Foundation - Rotary's own charity  - and for their continuing support for End Polio Now - the joint project between Rotary, the World Health Organisation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation which aims to eradicate polio.

Calum explained the four strategies with which it is proposed to take Rotary forward: adaptation to new, flexible, innovative clubs; strategic planning over the next five years; development of projects and a commitment to look after the wellbeing of all Rotary members.  He emphasised the wish of his team in District 1020 to assist all clubs to increase their potential in achieving the Rotary ideal of Service Above Self.

President Irene Brownless welcomed DG Calum to the virtual meeting. Vice President Derek Clark proposed the vote of thanks.
