Wet Wheels Event for young Carers
Exciting trip on the Forth for Young Carers
Our club were delighted to support an exciting trip on the Forth at the end of May for eight local Young Carers who over and above their normal busy life's have the additional responsibility to provide support in various ways to family members . We organised the experience in conjunction with the Capital Carer organisation who in turn provide support for these marvellous children and the Wetwheels team who operate a craft from Port Edgar marina specially designed to give people with additional needs an exciting experience on the water . And exciting it was as the craft has a very powerful engine coupled with that on the day the sea was rather bouncy! But the youngsters had a ball with screams of excitement being heard above the roar of the engine. The highlight for them was when they were all given the chance to steer the boat themselves, seals and other marine life all gave us a wide berth! All in all a well deserved experience for those youngsters who don't think they are doing anything special when of course they are.
