Rotary Foundation

The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into service projects that change lives both close to home and around the world.

The Rotary Foundation is Rotary International's charitable arm, funding projects in seven areas of focus

Peace/Conflict Prevention

Disease Prevention/Treatment

Water/Sanitation

Maternal/Child Health

Basic Education/Literacy

Economic/Community Development

Protecting the Environment

…and also giving significant support to Rotary’s flagship PolioPlus programme

The Foundation transforms donations into sustainable, community-led solutions for world understanding, peace, and improved health, education, and poverty alleviation.

The Foundation operates through grants made to projects (District & Global) managed by Rotary Clubs and groups of Rotary Clubs, it supports Peace Centres, and boasts strong financial health, having spent over $4 billion on projects since its inception in 1917

All 46,000 Rotary Clubs in the world are encouraged to support the Rotary Foundation, as Rotary’s own charity

Llandudno Rotary Club does this by setting a target of raising an annual £1,000 from Member contributions and fundraisers, with performance being monitored monthly through the Club’s Council

In the Rotary year due to end in June 2026, the target is expected to be exceeded (we have raised £899 to end of Jan 2026) and £500 of this has been donated to the Polio Plus Campaign where the Bill Gates Foundation match funds the donation two times (Making our £500 = £1,500)
