Press Release 3 January 2026
It’s been an incredible 2025 for Llandudno Rotary
As the New Year begins, Llandudno Rotary Club is looking back on a year filled with growth, community spirit, and meaningful action. In 2025 our small but mighty team of 16 members achieved so much together along with tremendous help from our many Friends of Rotary.
Growing our Rotary family - We welcomed 3 new members and grew our Friends of Rotary network to 62. Our goal for 2026? 25 members and 100 Friends. If you’d like to give back to the Llandudno area and have fun doing it why not join us…
Fundraising with purpose - Through 9 collection days at venues including Tesco and Parc Llandudno, we raised funds for our Community Chest which supports local community groups, we helped launch the Friends of Llandudno Hospital which will provide services for patients and staff and also supported schools in Africa.
Supporting our community - We awarded £2,000 in grants to 7 local groups and led work to ensure town defibrillators are checked and ready to save lives through our Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest Programme, in partnership with Save a Life Cymru. We ran an Ysgol Aberconwy Mental Health Project providing pupils, parents and carers with practical guidance.
Taking on personal challenges – Five of our members pushed themselves by running the Manchester Marathon and completing the Bala Challenge — all to raise vital funds.
Making a global impact - We committed £1,000 annually to The Rotary Foundation, which funds local Rotary initiatives around the world, including £500 to the End Polio Now campaign.
Friendship and fellowship - From a 73-guest Charter Night and Greek Night to historical walks and our new Christmas wreath project, we’ve shared plenty of laughter along the way.
We were also proud to stand with our community at the Remembrance Sunday service, the Town Fireworks, and the Christmas Parade, as well as helping out with the town's Parkinson's Society group.
Just imagine what we could achieve with 25 members. If you’d like to give back to Llandudno in 2026, we’d love to welcome you. For more information about Rotary Club of Llandudno and how to get involved, please visit www.llandudnorotary.org.
Wishing everyone in Llandudno a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year
