Llandudno Rotary welcomes Australian teachers

Folk from down under reach the top

Rotary operates in over 200 countries of the world.

In many countries Rotary Clubs group together to sponsor young professional people – who may or may not have connections with Rotary – to visit another country for a month, to meet people of their own vocation and see how the job is done in another part of the world.

Rotary in the country of origin pays the travel and the receiving country hosts and entertains the visitors, as well as organising a programme of educational and cultural visits.

During September and October 2017, five teachers and principals from Queensland, Australia have been in Merseyside and North Wales, and after a hectic schedule visiting schools and meeting fellow educationalists, last week-end saw some welcome “down-time” in Llandudno.

Llandudno Rotary was pleased to meet their request to see the scenic outdoors with a 6 mile hike around the Great Orme, followed by a well-earned late lunch at Kava’s. Good fellowship.
